Why Grass Fed Meat?
Because you are what you eat—the same is true for animals. A cow and lamb’s natural diet is grasses. The diets of animals on a strictly grass fed diet contain more omega-3 fatty acids, anti-oxidants such as Vitamin E, beta-carotene, and CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) than grain fed meats. Grass fed meats are generally lower in fat than conventional meats—and less fat means less calories. The fats that are found in grass fed meat contain less “bad” fats and more “good” fats. These benefits have been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer; maintain healthy cholesterol levels; reduce the effects of arthritis and some allergies. |
